Brendan Horan (born Brendan Francis John Horan on 9 July 1961) was a weather presenter for Television New Zealand's ONE News, running on a regular cycle with Karen Olsen and Natalie Crook.
He started in March 2005, but soon attracted criticism from viewers for his slow presentations, frequent mistakes and occasional goofs (such as standing in front of the map of New Zealand or displaying a map of Dunedin while talking about the weather in Christchurch). Nevertheless, he was kept on, and he improved over his tenure. However, he took redundancy in 2007 when former TV1 weather presenter Jim Hickey returned after nearly 4 years absence on the air. Brendan's final weather presentation was on 7 September.
Horan lives in the Bay of Plenty with his wife, and his 4 year old son. He is an accomplished surf lifesaver and holds multiple qualifications from tertiary institutions, including a BSc.
