Brenda Gilmore

Brenda Gilmore is a member of the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County, representing the 1st district.[1] According to her website, she is currently the State Representative-elect for district 54 of the Tennessee House of Representatives. [2] Her daughter, Erica Gilmore, is presently a member of the Metro Council. [3] During the 2003-2007 session, she was the chairwoman of the Budget and Finance Committee.[4]

Brenda Gilmore graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Tennessee State University in 1984, and with a Master of Human Resource Development degree from Vanderbilt University in 1988. She is also a graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute, the Vanderbilt Leadership Development Forum, and Leadership Nashville. From 1979 to 1987, she worked at the Tennessee Department of General Services. She is also the Director of Mail Service at Vanderbilt University and was previously director of State Postal Services. She is a former clerk and secretary of Fairfield Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. [5][1]
