Bremen High School or BHS is a public four year high school located in Midlothian, Illinois. It is the first school built as part of Bremen Community High School District 228 which also includes Tinley Park High School, Hillcrest High School and Oak Forest High School. Bremen High School was opened in 1953 along with the creation of BHSD 228 to serve students in the newly developing areas at the time. Bremen High School is named after the township in which it is located, Bremen Township.

Bremen Started as a waste dump left over from the early 1900's,although such historians as Dr. O'Shea dispute this claim, but it was not until 1950 that having a school of their own became a reality. The building first opened at cost of around $1,000,000. They started their first school year in 1953 with a staff of 37 teachers and administrators welcoming 732 students. Bremen High School has one outstanding alumnus known commonly as Midlo Rich.(b.1949). A local folkhero to the town of Midlothian,he has not been seen in the area for quite a while. Midlo Rich is currently living in a motel due to the fact that Midas blew up the engine in his van. He suffers from diabetes, painful neuropathy,degenerative bone disease, and is trying to get some teeth so he can smile. The podiatrist who cut his toenails on April 7, 2008 will be the future podiatrist of John Mellencamp. It should also be noted that Midlo Rich has gotten his false teeth, and they fit perfectly.

Bremen High School is the first school to be built in district 228. The school mainly serve's the communities of Midlothian, Posen, Markham and a small part of Harvey. Bremen High school is also member of the South Suburban Conference.
