Bremen is a fictional character from Terry Brooks' Shannara series of high fantasy novels who appears in the novel First King of Shannara.
In First King of Shannara Bremen travels to the Valley of Shale and, summoning the dead Druids out of the Hadeshorn, is shown what is needed to destroy the Warlock Lord. He also learns of the Black Elfstone, a magical weapon that would grant the Warlock Lord tremendous destructive power.
Bremen recovers the Eilt Druin from the tower of Paranor so he can use the amulet as a component in the Sword to defeat the Warlock Lord. He receives information on how to forge this mighty weapon from Cogline, an old friend, and has the sword made by an expert weaponsmith named Urprox Screl.
On the way to Arborlon, Bremen meets Allanon as a small child in the burned city of Varfleet. Bremen chooses Allanon as his Druid apprentice and teaches him Druidic magic, then gives the sword to Jerle Shannara, warrior king of the Elves. (Jerle Shannara wields it ineffectively on the Warlock Lord, leaving the task of eliminating the villain to his descendant, Shea Ohmsford, in The Sword of Shannara.)
After these events, Bremen decides that his time in this life has run out and goes with new apprentice Allanon to the Valley of the Shale. He is taken into the Hadeshorn to be with the other Druids that have died.
