Breakthrough album

A Breakthrough album is an LP or CD by a band or musician previously only known in the underground or indie scene of its given genre, which propels the group to widespread fame and popularity. Examples include Nirvana's 1992 album Nevermind, Korn's 1998 album Follow the Leader, Blink 182's Enema of the State, and Kiss's Alive! live album.
