[edit] History

In winter of 2002, several college and high school friends began practicing breakdancing at Okaloosa-Walton College, some beginners and some veterans. At that point some of the veterans began teaching the beginners how to dance several times a week while battling on weekends. After several of these individuals relocated in the summer, the remaining ones began collaborating on music, both comedic and serious performances, and creating a promotional Web presence.

By spring, RNA released his album Thinking..., which included songs that would eventually be rereleased in Breakdance Crew vol.1. Such songs include "Your Crew", "All For You", and "My Dreams". "Your Crew" was produced as a music video by Silver Sands Studios soon after release. In August of 2002, Clinching Productions, a small film production company, premiered its comedy film Two Hitmen which included two songs by Breakdance Crew members: "Airborne" and "Escape". The full Breakdance Crew vol.1 album was released the December to coincide with the Christmas season.

In 2003, RNA released Beats & Envy, and Brutal produced the single "Dreamscape", which along with the previously-released song "Overdrive", made its debut on a 5.1 surround sound preview album on DVD-Audio. Later in 2003, college graduation and military commission caused the contributors of Breakdance Crew to part their own ways on good terms. Periodic reunions still take place, and individual members create music to be compiled on the official website, preparing for the announced release of Breakdance Crew vol.2.

Summer of 2006 marked the debut of member accounts at the official website, allowing dancers and musicians worldwide to share their interests with others in an online community. As of February 2007, there were over 1000 member accounts.
