Brandon Lee Rauch (DJ Brandon "superfly" Rauch) was born August 10th 1975 in Fort Worth Texas. He is the first grandson of the famous lead vocalist Edgar Leon Rauch (stage name Leon Rausch) Leon spent most of his career as lead vocals for Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Brandon's father Michael Rauch was also in some small bands and was an avid record and rock poster collector in the seventies and eighties. Brandon started collecting vinyl sometime in the mid nineties so it was only natural for him to start beat matching the music he had acquired. He first started mixing in 1998 on a very crude set up consisting of belt driven turntables one a Realistic (Radio Shack brand) and a Technics home turntable both with a rotary wheel + or – 3% pitch. The mixer was an off brand 3 channel, slipmats were 2 towels from the bathroom cut into circles and placed on the decks (as stated by Brandon circa 2000). It took the new dj 3 weeks to learn on this set up. Shortly after that he upgraded to the Techincs 1200 turntables (the industry standard for mixing) and in 1999 hooked up with long time friend Jon Wilson to start NRA Records (National Rhythm Army Records). Late in 99 the two released their first track “Super Dee Jays” it sold well with some copies going all the way to the UK. Brandon Rauch now makes his home in Dallas TX and is recording once again under the NRA records label after taking a 6 year break.
