Brazilian Island
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brazilian Island (in Portuguese Ilha Brasileira; Spanish Isla Brasilera) is a small fluvial island situated in the waters of the Uruguay River, between the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
Administratively, the island belongs to the town of Barra do Quaraí (Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul), but has been claimed for more than a century by Uruguay.
- Note
^ In standard Spanish, the word "Brazilian" is "brasileño/brasileña" but in the Southern Cone the term "brasilero/brasilera" is more commonly used.
