Brazil first participated at the Olympic Games in 1920, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for the 1928 Games. Brazil has also participated in the Winter Olympic Games since 1992.

Brazilian athletes have won a total of 76 medals, with sailing and volleyball as the top medal-producing sports.

The National Olympic Committee for Brazil is the Brazilian Olympic Committee, and was created in 1914 and recognized in 1935.
