TV.com summary

Bratz is a computer-animated television series, based on a line of toy dolls of the same name. It is produced by Mike Young Productions and MGA Entertainment, and premiered on the FOX 4Kids TV television programming block on September 10, 2005.

This show follows the adventures of Jade, Yasmin, Sasha, & Cloe as they launch issues of their Bratz Magazine. Burdine Maxwell, the evil editor of rival magazine Your Thing, tries to stop the Bratz girls from putting out the magazine. Maxwell is aided by her interns, evil twins Kirstee and Kaycee, aka. "the Tweevils" (a portmanteau of twins and evil, created by Sasha and a parody of Paris and Nicky Hilton). One of them had a nose-job and wears a bandage covering her nose.

The events in the TV series followed on from the direct-to-DVD movie, Bratz: Rock Angelz.

In fall 2006, 4Kids TV began airing Season 2 of Bratz. The series was canceled on April 7, 2007. New episodes are currently airing in other countries.[citation needed]

[edit] Popularity

Just like the original Bratz doll line debuted in June 2001, it become popular quickly with young girls, especially those in the preteen category. The TV show, with this pre-existing fan base, became an instant hit, and, with a peak of 51,000 viewers, Bratz became the most popular children's television series in the UK, during its run on the CITV Channel.
