Brath is a fictional character from the American comic book of the same name published by CrossGen Entertainment Inc.
[edit] Character details
Brath was given his sigil by the Stag-god. With his new found powers he was able to bring together the fragmented clans of the Urelands and fight together against the invading armies of the Emperor Quintillius Aurelius Galba Rex. He has a wife, Taniella and a son Bryllin.
Brath fought against the armies of the emperor until Dun Garen was invaded and his people defeated. He was captured and forced to fight in the arena (ala Gladiator) for the pleasure of the new emperor, the mad Gaius Metallus Pricus Deius Rex, and the peoples of the empire.
Separated from his family, his wife thinks him dead and his son is taken by a mad witch doctor intent on using him in some sort of spell/sacrifice.
Within the gladitorial arena he befriends a woman, Ule, an Eremanni whose people were conquered long ago by the empire. Together they battle in the arena, Brath constantly defying the Emperors wish for him to die a dog’s death. The two eventually escape and make it to a boat docked at the harbour. As they sail out to sea Brath and his friend are pursued by Vulpus, the emperors catspaw.
Due to the bankruptcy of CrossGen Entertainment Inc. Brath was one of many titles that was never concluded and thus Braths story may never be concluded.
[edit] Sigil-Bearer
- Sigil Location: Chest
Brath was among the few who lost his Sigil when Solusandra returned to the world of man, although Brath, unlike many of the other Sigil-bearers gave up his Sigil willingly, convinced that he no longer deserved the power bestowed upon him because he had failed his people in his struggle against the legions of the empire.
At one time Brath fought alongside Samandahl Rey and the two became friends. They both shared similar paths, both fighting wars (although in very different senses of technology) and both leaders of sorts. The two also shared a common trait, both had their Sigils on their chests.
In the preview for Negation #3, Brath is seen with his Sigil restored on his cheast.
