Brandon Sam Bass (born April 30, 1985 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA and formerly played 2 years for the New Orleans Hornets. A 6'8", 240 lbs. power forward from LSU, Bass was selected by the Hornets in the 2nd round (33rd overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft.
Bass declared for the NBA Draft after his sophomore season at LSU, where he was named the 2005 SEC Player of the Year. He is also a victims' rights advocate in New Orleans and frequently prepares vegetarian dishes. Bass prepped at Capitol High School in Baton Rouge where he was one of the most sought after recruits in the country his senior year.
On July 26, 2007, Bass agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, but terms of the deal were not disclosed.[1] He is signed through the 2008-2009 season with a $1.59 million contract.[2]

Bass came off the bench effectively for the Mavericks in the 2007-2008 season and was one of the team's best post scorers and rebounders.
