He had aspirations of being a cardiac surgeon if he had not caught the acting bug. In high school, he had to have knee surgery if he wanted to have a chance to play college basketball. His girlfriend at that time got him in the school's musical audition, unbeknownst to him. Brandon Barash attended the University of Southern California and got a BFA Degree in Acting. During his time at USC Brandon starred in several theater productions. Brandon also attended the Harvey Lembeck Comedy Workshop and is currently training with Lesly Kahn. Brandon Barash excells in many areas including speaking Spanish fluently and piano. Brandon mastered stage combat, juggling, singing and voice impressions.
Brandon is also very talented in when it comes to sports playing everything from basketball to racquetball. Also baseball, football, fencing, and golf. He states in the interview with GilmoreGirls.org that this was when he fell in love with acting.[1]He is known for playing Jamie, Paris Gellar's 1st real boyfriend on Gilmore Girls. Presently, he is portraying Johnny Zacchara on General Hospital.

Brandon is the son of Jerry L. Barash, President & CEO of Sysco Food Services of Ventura and his first wife Susan G. Hughes. His stepfather is Judge Leonard Hughes III. Brandon has one brother Jordan B. Barash and one sister Alison L. Barash. His stepmother is Karen M. Barash. Brandon has lived in Missouri, Texas and California
