Brandoch Daha

In Eric Rücker Eddison's fantasy The Worm Ouroboros - Brandoch Daha is one of the two main heroes, a lord of Demonland and a key actor in most of the narrative.
Brandoch Daha is described as follows

For years was he held for the third best man-at-arms in all Mercury, along with these, Goldry Bluszco and Gorice X. of Witchland. And Gorice he slew, nine summers back, in single combat, when the Witches harried in Goblinland and Brandoch Daha led five hundred and fourscore Demons to succour Gaslark, the king of that country. Brandoch Daha has a sister, Lady Mevrian, but he has no named parents, nor any wife or children. Brandoch Daha's residence is called Krothering Castle and it is captured by the Witchland army of Corinius and despoiled.

Brandoch Daha's relation to the other three lords of Demonland (Lord Juss, Goldry Bluszco, and Lord Spitfire) is never defined but they all act like brothers. He is the perfect knight, like Lancelot to Lord Juss's King Arthur. He goes where Juss says and rarely dissents from Juss's schemes. He leads successful cavalry attacks on the armies of Witchland at two battles, the victory of Krothering Side and at the final battle before the walls of Carcë, the capital city of Witchland.
Because of Corinius's sack of Krothering Castle, Brandoch Daha swears vengeance against Corinius but is unable to fulfill his oath as Corinius dies from poison after the final battle.
