[edit] History

He is the grandson of Jim Branning. He came to Walford to live with Jim and Dot when he got a job in the City. He moved from Tring in Hertfordshire. He worked in a Merchant Bank where he was initially a victim of persecution but since developed a Machiavellian streak which he used to have a co-worker removed, thus securing him a promotion.

Jim and Dot were quick to introduce Bradley to the rest of the Albert Square residents. On his first night in London he went to Scarlet nightclub with Deano Wicks and Stacey Slater. While there, Deano spiked Stacey's drink to calm her down, but she later passed out in the street. Deano ran to get some blankets to keep her warm while Bradley lifted her up onto a bench. Stacey came to but was in a confused state, and pushed Bradley away thinking he was trying to rape her. The next day, Bradley was arrested for indecent assault on Stacey. However Deano Wicks owned up after confessing to Stacey about the spiked drink.

Bradley asked Stacey on a date after Jim and Charlie Slater gave them money for it. Stacey rejected Bradley twice. However, Stacey agreed to one date as long as Bradley stood her up. Bradley took advice from his grandfather to only hear what he wanted to hear, so did not stand her up and Stacey had no choice but to go on the date.

On Bradley's second day working in the city, he lost his wallet containing £50 and his Oyster card, and most importantly, his Thunderbirds fan club card. However, he found a pound and bought a lottery scratchcard with it, and won £10 so he could get home. He told Jim and Dot that it was his lucky day, despite his misfortune, just because he was able to get home. Later on the same day, Stacey made him eat food containing nuts, which made him suffer an allergic reaction. Bradley still thought it was his lucky day, as he now thought Stacey liked him. His wallet was returned to him the next day, but everything had been stolen apart from his Thunderbirds card.

[edit] Bradley and Stacey: attempt 1

Bradley entered into a relationship with Stacey. Stacey discovered she was pregnant with Bradley's child, and, after some persuasion on Bradley's part, decided that it would be best to abort the unborn baby, telling friends and family that she had had a miscarriage.

In June 2006 Bradley's father, Max, moved in to number 5 Albert Square. Bradley's stepmother Tanya and half sisters Lauren and Abi also moved in. Bradley didn't want anything to do with Max, as he had walked out on him and his mother Rachel thirteen years earlier, although he did speak to Lauren. Despite Bradley's immediate dislike for his father, he began to soften towards Max and they became friends, much to the chagrin of Bradley's grandfather Jim.

Bradley organised his work's Christmas party but didn't invite Stacey telling her that he couldn't take a guest, when really he could take a guest but he didn't want to take Stacey because he had his eye on his colleague, Lydia. On 21 December 2006 Stacey turned up uninvited at Bradley's work party and ended up being dumped by Bradley.

[edit] After Stacey

Bradley then had a relationship with Lydia. On Valentine's Day Bradley broke up with Lydia as he realised he still had feelings for Stacey. He shouted outside her window that he still loved her whilst Max was in Stacey's bed.

Bradley entered into a romance with Preeti Choraria and the pair shared a kiss and spent the night together.

[edit] Stacey and Bradley: attempt 2

But on Thursday May 24th, Bradley broke up with her because he was secretly still in love with Stacey, whom he began dating again, and to whom he became engaged on 5 July 2007. In the build up to the wedding, Stacey misplaced her mobile phone and it was found by her mother with many messages from "Jerry". Sean then read these and later saw Max and Stacey together in the Square, realising that "Jerry" was Max, who had been cheating on his wife Tanya with Stacey for several months.

On 1 November 2007, Stacey and Bradley were set to get married, however, Stacey stopped herself when she had second thoughts, because she didn't feel right about marrying Bradley. Stacey asked Bradley if she should keep secrets, and to her surprise he said yes. The couple then married. After the wedding, when they were preparing to set off to go on their honeymoon, Stacey told Max that their affair was over and that she had no feelings for him anymore. Whilst talking about their affair, neither of them realised that Lauren's camcorder was in the room, recording this discussion.

When Lauren came back to the house to retrieve the camcorder, she didn't check what was on it. In the car, when Bradley and Stacey set off to the airport to go on their honeymoon, the camcorder was in Bradley's bag.

When Bradley and Stacey returned from their honeymoon, they picked up the wrong suitcase. The same day Bradley was fired when his boss moved office. He later took on the job of Assistant Market Inspector in Walford. On 22 November he tried to spice up his and Stacey's lovelife by surprising her by wearing nothing but a bow tie. However, when Stacey came in, she had her mother, Jean with her, who laughed at seeing Bradley naked.

[edit] Discovery

On Christmas Day 2007 (an episode which was watched by 14.38 million viewers) Bradley received a DVD from Lauren, which was the wedding video, showing Max kissing Stacey after the wedding and exposing their affair. The Branning and Slater families watched in horror as they kissed. Bradley was angry and pushed Stacey to the wall and punched Max, resulting in Stacey crying and begging for forgiveness. He was later found vomiting by Jack Branning, who took him to the pub. When he saw Max, he rushed out of the pub, falling in the process. He ran out onto the Square and punched Max in the face, falling on the steps outside to his flat. He then talked to Max who said it happened twice with Stacey. Minutes later Stacey went into the flat to talk to him. They shared a passionate kiss but Bradley backed away and then trashed the flat in a rage, telling Stacey to leave. Stacey removed her wedding ring and left. It was too late however, as Tanya had already discovered Max's dear John letter. Tanya shamed the cheating duo by reading the letter to the entire pub, and then slapped both Max and Stacey in full view of everyone. Tanya threw Max out and he left Walford without Stacey. Bradley also chucked Stacey out onto the street, leaving her penniless and homeless. Dot was worried the next day to find Bradley drinking in the morning. He later went round to the Slaters' where Jean revealed that Charlie and Mo had gone to visit Lynne. Bradley actually showed some concern when Jean's words made it sound like Stacey wasn't coping, but Jean uneasily insisted she was looking after Stacey.

Bradley then went to the pub to see Stacey and found her yelling to everyone in the pub that she did sleep with Max and that she didn't care what they thought. Bradley then left the next day, and left a letter for Dot.

Bradley then returned in February hoping to get a divorce. He became good friends with Clare Bates. On 24th March 2008, Bradley decided to try and forgive his father, telling him he'd go for a drink with him. Unfortunely, Max was leaving Walford.

In April 2008 Bradley kissed Clare Bates but pulled away, still thinking of Stacey.
