[edit] MLB Career

Beagle was drafted in the 38th Round of the 2004 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. Beagle had little to no baseball experience but he impressed scouts with his raw athleticism. He benched pressed over 380lbs. and ran the 60 yard dash in just under 6.39 seconds.

Beagle started his playing days with the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Detroit Tigers Single-A affiliate. In his first two months with the team he batted .137 with two home runs, four RBIs and one double while striking out 43 times during that period.[1] Beagle quit the team in August of 2004, and moved back to his hometown of Huntington Beach, CA.

[edit] Venture Capitalism

Beagle used the small salary he had earned while playing with the Whitecaps to begin his own private investments in smaller upcoming companies in the Los Angeles area. His first investments were in Gomers, a small local brewery, and Monster6ix, an energy drink company.

Monster6ix went out of business in February of 2005, but Gomers made quite a splash in the LA market, and soon Beagle found himself as a part owner of the company. He began spreading his newly aquired money into companies such as Google, and Vitamin Water. Beagle is believed to have made in the neighborhood of $13 million through venture capitalism in those two companies from 2004 through 2007. In 2008, his investment firm, Beagle Inc., was listed as one of the top 100 venutre capitalist firms in America.[2] .

[edit] Incubus

Through funding Beagle managed to gain the position of Chief Marketing Director of the mainstream alternative music band Incubus. Beagle is referenced in the Incubus song "Pendulous Threads" in the lines If it came down to it, would you high-tail home and hide? Or dance on fire and enjoy the ride?. The reference is to Beagle's fall from glory as a Major League Baseball player and rise to the top as a Venture Capitalist, and now highly viewed business member of the band Incubus.[3]
