Bracknagh (Breacánach in Irish) is a small village in County Offaly in Ireland, situated at the junction of the R442 and R419 regional roads.
It is half way between Portarlington and Rathdangan on the R419, 8 km from from both.
The village had a population of approximately 300 people in 2002.
“ This settlement is likely to have originated as a small cluster of dwellings located around the road junction. Subsequent expansion has in the main, taken the form of linear development along the constituent roads, and two housing developments by Offaly County Council and Bord na Mona. The existing settlement is low rise and low density, with a number of different building styles in evidence ” Ref:[1]
