Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brackley Beach is a small Canadian rural farming community located in central Prince Edward Island on the province's North Shore, approximately 10 km north of the community of Brackley, from which it derives its name.

Brackley Beach is noted for its excellent sand beach, protected by the Prince Edward Island National Park, as well as for its various tourist accommodations and attractions. The community was an early force in the development of the province's tourism industry during the 19th century when the Shaw family developed a small hotel (Shaw's Hotel) that quickly became a favoured destination for visitors to the province. The hotel's reputation as well as upkeep has declined over the years but still operates on a seasonal basis. Image:Http://www.hacc.edu/paxtoncreek/t24.jpg
