Brè is a village in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, today a quarter of the city of Lugano.

It was first recorded in year 1280 as de Bre.[1]

Brè is located in the former municipality Brè-Aldesago. In 1972 Brè-Aldesago municipality was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Lugano. Brè was also the name of the municipality Brè-Aldesago from until 1953.[1]
