[edit] History

The word "Buzdar" according to some people stands for the person who had a Blue Coloured Horse , the person is considered as the forefather of the tribe and his horse, because of being unique in colour; his family, later on, after centuries which had grown into a tribe was named as Buzdar meaning "Blue Horse keeper(Booz=The Name of Blue Horse, Dar=Keeper)". But some people take it from the Persian language, in which the word "Buzdar" means those people who possess "Goats" because in Persian "Booz" stands for "Goat" and "Dar" stands for "Possession" which is INCORRECT.

Baloch tribes are scattered in different areas of Pakistan. Some members of this tribe are also settled in Sindh. The tribe buzdar has numerous subtribes, among which shahwanis is perhaps the most prominent.shahwanis are widely distributed in Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh provinces of Pakistan. The "Shahwanis" are well educated in almost the Buzdar Tribes. The part of Buzdar tribe resides in conjoined areas of Balochistan and Punjab in the mountain ranges of Koh e Suleman. These areas generally do not have access to electricity, telecommunication, transportation, and running water and sewage systems.

Bozdar, a Baluch tribe of Rind (Arab) extraction, usually associated with the mountain districts of the frontier near Dera Ghazi Khan. They are also to be found in Zhob, Thal-Chotiali and Las Bela, whilst the majority of the population are said to live in the Punjab. The bozdar are settled in Baghalchur and Ronghan areas of Punjab.

They are usually graziers, and the name Bozdar is probably derived from Buz, the Persian name for goat. Within the limits of their mountain home on the outer spurs of the Sulaiman Mountains they have always been a turbulent race, mustering about 2700 fighting men, and they were formerly constantly at feud with the neighboring Ustarana and Sherani tribes. In 1857 their raids into the Punjab drew upon them an expedition under Brigadier-General Sir N. B. Chamberlain. The Sangarh pass was captured and the Bozdars submitted. now a times buzdars are migrating to taunsa city for education and their mother language is balochi but 80% of buzdars also can speak saraiki .buzdars are very hospitable and "qoom parast" .
