Boys and Girls is a romantic comedy film that was released in 2000, directed by Robert Iscove. It has been said to be a new generation version of the movie When Harry Met Sally.[weasel words] The two main characters, Ryan (played by Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Jennifer (Claire Forlani), are teenagers who meet on an airplane. Although they meet several more times, they hate each other until reunited at UC Berkeley, where they fall in love. They sleep together, but Jennifer regrets it; despite their differences, they eventually get together.
[edit] Trivia
- The characters portrayed by Jason Biggs and Amanda Detmer wind up together by the conclusion of the film. Their characters would also meet this same fate in Saving Silverman.
- In the Kevin Smith film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jason Biggs (playing himself) angrily questions why people solely know him from the American Pie movies, at one point stating, "Hey, you kicked ass in Boys and Girls!"
