Boyne Mountain is a year round resort in Northern Michigan (near Boyne City ) and was developed around the skiing industry of the region by Everett Kircher. Boyne Mountain now includes golf, tennis, hiking/biking trails, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, cross country skiing, disc golfing, snowshoeing, the destination Solace Spa, shopping, fine dining, and Michigan's largest indoor waterpark, Avalanche Bay, as well as the recently completed Mountain Grand Lodge. Boyne Mountain is owned and operated by Boyne Resorts, a family owned company that operates ten ski resorts including Big Sky (Montana), and Crystal Mountain (Washington), as well as the closer Boyne Highlands, only 27-miles north of Boyne Mountain. [edit] Annual Mountain Events and Activities

  • Carnival Weekend is celebrated around St. Patrick's Day and kicks off spring skiing/riding. Party goers dress in costumes and celebrate the weekend with skiing/riding, a party at the Halfway house on the Victor slope, enjoy live entertainment and Sunday's Slush Cup where participants attempt to ski and snowboard down the mountain and across a pond.
  • Krazy Daze is the same weekend but at Boyne Highlands.

[edit] First chairlift ever built

The first chairlift built was constructed in 1936 in Idaho. Later, parts of this equipment were relocated to Boyne Mountain where it is still in use. [1]
