I fail to see the purpose of a disambiguation link on Box Hill, Victoria, when Box Hill is already a disambiguation page, not a redirect. Anthony DiPierro 00:29, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

It's usual practice, for two reasons.

  1. The user may easily have arrived at this page from a link like [[Box Hill, Victoria|Box Hill]], which just looks like a link to Box Hill, and s/he was actually expecting to be taken to a different Box Hill.
  2. The other places that have the same name (or, in general, the other entries with the same name) are part of the legitimate content of an entry. In the case of place names, they may well reflect early settlement/emigration patterns or other sociological associations, but even if they do not, they are likely to be of interest.

I've never seen it before, so I'm not sure how "usual" it is. I also don't see any mention of it on Wikipedia:Disambiguation. If it's part of the legitimate content of the entry, put it in the entry itself, not at the top. Anthony DiPierro 04:25, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Plaza or Centro?

I see there is mention of "Whitehorse Centro" but most locals (including myself) still refer to it by its original name, Whitehorse Plaza. Is it worth making reference to this name? (In fact some locals erroneously called it "Box Hill Plaza"...) --Bricks J. Winzer 07:35, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adjacency table

I noticed someone has removed the suburb adjacencey table, so I've taken the liberty to put it back in. If anyone has any objections, have a look at the WikiProject Melbourne page on suburbs.

[edit] Bus services?

Although it is possible to get to La Trobe university from the Box Hill bus interchange, there is no direct route and the shortest, most direct route takes more than an hour. I feel the article should be edited to reflect this. Missjaye 11:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Boxhillarms.jpg

Image:Boxhillarms.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
