Boxford, Suffolk

Boxford is a village and civil parish in the Babergh district of Suffolk, England, situated about six miles east of Sudbury. According to Eilert Ekwall the meaning of the village name is " the ford where box tree grows".The Domesday Book records the population of Boxford in 1086 to be 18. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 1,258.
Copella is made in Boxford.
Tornado Smith originates from Boxford and was the original rider on the wall of death with his lion in his sidecart. He lived in the White Hart Pub in Boxford and at that time his father owned it as a pub. Recently it has been fully refurbished and is now more of a gastro pub.
