The boxer snipe eel, Nemichthys curvirostris, is a snipe eel of the family Nemichthyidae found worldwide in tropical and temperate waters, to depths of up to 2,000 m. Its length is up to 143 cm.
The boxer snipe eel is pale in colour with black lines between the vertebrae. It feeds on crustaceans, and is oviparous, with strong sexual dimorphism.
