[edit] Dining Hall

"At some point, food service in the dining hall was ended " What? When did that happen? I graduated in 1999 (and lived in Bowles for 3 years) , and up to that point the Bowles dining hall was regarded as the best quality dining hall (especially on friday bar-b-ques).ur_land

By 2003 (when I started at Cal), Bowlesmen were eating at Foothill. - mako 05:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Well I'm here in 2006 and theres no food here but vending machines and a fridge; everyone eats at Foothill. Lx Rogue 04:25, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I was lived in Bowles 2003-2004 and they had ended the dining hall around in 2000-2001. The administration promised to make refurnish the hall with a pool table, ping pong table, vending machines, and a television. However, someone broke our machine, and the television was never properly locked down and was stolen. The Bowles dining hall chef went over to cook at Foothill but retired or was laid off the year before I started school. Last time I lived there, Bowles still had barbeques on Fridays roughly once a month, and at the end of every semester, we had decent catering in the Bowles lounge from Clark Kerr, but in general there is no more food served at Bowles. The DC was last operational 2000-2001. I lived in Bowles 2001-2002 and it was closed then.

[edit] Page origin

I started this page hoping to give some luster back to the place I spent two collegiate years at, for better or worse. Hopefully some noteworthy alumni from Bowles can be listed/gathered on here and bring some justification to any pride in the Hall. Wodan
