[edit] Ballygarvan
The things you added are alive and well and at Talk:Ballygarvan, County Cork. If you are wondering what happened to articles, click on the history tab at the top and you'll see. Mind you, the message I put there is complete bollocks, so that wouldn't have helped.
Anyway, if you have a read at the help stuff, it will explain how to edit Wikipedia. But for Ballygarvan, here's what you added:
BALLYGARVAN baile garbhain as geailge meaning place of garbhain and surrounding area has a population of between 1000 and 1500 residents it ocuppies the eastern half of ballinhassig parish BALLYGARVAN village itself is located in a picturesque valley between myrtle and meadstown hills next to the owenabue river roughly 9 kms south of CORK CITY and 2kms from cork airport just off the r613 cork kinsale road facilities in the village include a catholic church a grocery shop a primary school and 2 pubs the village also has a GAA club and pitch in recent years a housing estate has been built in the village attracting many new residents drawn by BALLYGARVANS attractive location near cork city cork airport and carrigaline BALLYGARVANS GAA club won the cork junior hurling championship in 2004 famous BALLYGARVAN residents have included GAA patron LIAM MC CARTHY and CORK inter county footballer GER SPILLANE Bouse23 20:39, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Most of the punters that read this won't have a clue what as geailge means, so it's better to copy the way it's done in the article now (([[Irish language|Irish]]: ''Baile Garbháin''), or you can use one of the confusing template things. That would be ({{lang-ga|Baile Garbháin}}). The bits where you've put capitals, normally might be put in bold, or would be links (Cork City, Cork Airport).
Anyway, I'll add the stuff back and polish it up. Have a look at how the formatting stuff works if you like. If you want to test anything out, you can use the sandbox to see how stuff will look. Cheers, Angus McLellan (Talk) 10:54, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. You'd be best to take a look and check that I haven't buggered it up. I guessed that Ger Spillane played for Cork GAA. There isn't an article on him, although there are on the Kerry GAA Spillane brothers. If you have a look at Pat Spillane, you could use that as a guide to creating an article on the Ballgarvan Spillane if you wanted. Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:11, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Carrigdhoun
Hi. I'm afraid the Carrigdhoun article needs some work, as described above. Deb 16:53, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Denny barry
A tag has been placed on Denny barry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- pb30<talk> 22:18, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ballinhassig
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Guliolopez (talk) 15:35, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please stop "signing" articles. The signature tag (~~~~) should only be used on talkpages. Per above, it is not appropriate to include a signature in mainspace articles. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 16:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
