[edit] Transylvanian connection?

I was thinking about the "German theme," and it occurred to me that perhaps they come from rural Austria-Hungary (specifically Transylvania). After all, that was where Dracula came from. Perhaps this should be mentioned? SpionKop 05:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

While the European setting could very well be Romania, one has to consider that Romanian is in no way similar to German (it's similar to Latin/Italian however). -- Ynhockey (Talk) 09:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
But if they lived in Romania at the time of its rule by Austria-Hungary, wouldn't it be plausible for them to speak German, or at least be subject to German influence (for example, towns being called by their German names)? SpionKop 13:39, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Cain is certainly heard speaking German during his incantation. However, that very fact implies that the characters are not speaking German during their normal conversations. On the other hand, I think it brings up a good reason to believe that the spelling of "バウント" should really be "Baunt" and not "Bount," to agree with the German transliteration and Kariya's tendencies. And for that matter, the people who make these fillers don't seem to be too worried about plot holes. Dekimasu 02:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
The OST jacket could always be wrong. But, unless later text corrects that or make the Transylvanian connection specifically apparent, we'll probably have to write that off as relatively obvious but still original research. --tjstrf 17:39, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gesell cards

Just thought I would make a small list of Gesell's cards, in case anyone would like to add it to the article. Note! There are in fact umlauts ("¨") on a few of the cards, they are just INCREDIBLY hard to see, and actually look like smudge (compare them with dots over the "i"s and you'll see), I've written them like they are supposed to be written.

"Dämon Kraft" (Demon Power/Force), the hands of Gesell
"Wächter" (Watchdog/Guard/Look-Out), the "eyes" that shine light to make shadows
"Unbekannt" (Nameless/Unknown/Unidentified), Gesell's "true" form
"Kreissäge", (Buzz/Circular saw), the... buzz saw
"Schwerttanz" (Sword Dance), the swords
"Lebende Draht" (Living Wires), the ropes used to entangle someone
"Streitaxt" (Battle Axe), the Axes

As for the rest, you never see the text on the cards, with execption of the one with the spear/trident on it, but I just can't make it out. --Hecko 17:23, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Who else thinks that detailed information about the dolls should be moved into the Bounts in Bleach article? We had a similar problem with what should go into Quincy (Bleach) vs. Uryū Ishida, and decided that personal info should go into the character article, while generic into the generic. [edit] Picture

I feel a picture of the Bount wouldn't go amiss here. Only problem is, net searches only find bad images of Kariya, or gifs of the Bounto which keep moving and saying thing slike 'Bounto Fan Club', which I don't feel much like putting on Wikipedia. Whether people are interested in the topic is irrelevant. The subject passes notability and deserves an article. Sephiroth BCR 23:08, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Canon or non-canon?

I was just wondering, but since it is an anime exclusive, I was wondering if the whole arc is considered canon or not. It would be hard to say it's non-canon, because the whole rest of the anime still acts like it happened, so saying they aren't real is also saying some other information present in the anime and not the manga, even in other arcs, would be non-canon as well. Everything in the _anime_ happened in the _anime_. Everything in the manga happened in the manga. Do not assume one is more accurate than the other. It doesn't matter who created or designed which characters. All are equally as "official". [edit] A continuity speculation and a question

It is my understanding that the manga and the anime try their best not to conflict with each other's canon, which basically means that the Bount arc, while only shown in the anime, may or may not have happened in the manga as well. So we do not know that there are Bount in the manga continuity, but neither do we know that there are not; in fact, we do not know for sure whether they are one and the same or only remarkably similar to each other.

AFAIK, it is probably meant to be the same, but since anime is produced at a much faster rate than manga itself (as InuYasha fans such as myself know all too well) there is aditional plot produced only for the anime.
