Boutokaan Te Koaua

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boutokaan Te Koaua (BTK) or Pillars of Truth is a political party in Kiribati of which most members are well qualified MPs. Originally, the former name of this party is the National Progressive Party, which was then the first party to rule after Independence in 1979. This party is considerably well-known in Kiribati for overthrowing the Tito government in a no-confidence vote, just after the election of the President of 2003 where Teburoro Tito won in a slim victory. They won the 2004 election of the President as Anote Tong being their candidate. In 2007, they won again overwhelmingly.
