Bourbonnais Township is one of the original six townships established in 1853 for Kankakee County, Illinois. The population was 33,061 at the 2000 census, the largest in the county. It includes Altorf, Bradley, and Bourbonnais.
It is located at 41.158217 N, -87.869605 W. It has 109.18 km² (42 sq mi). (42.16 square miles) of land and 1.03 km² (0 sq mi). (0.395 square miles) covered by water. It has 12,834 housing units.

The township is governed by an elected Town Board of a Supervisor and four Trustees. The Township also has an elected Asser, Clerk, Highway Commissioner and Supervisor. The Township Office is located at 1350 Armour Road, Bourbonnais, Illinois 60914.
