Bourbon biscuit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bourbon cream (sometimes referred to as a Bourbon biscuit or just Bourbon) is a sandwich biscuit consisting of two thin rectangular dark chocolate biscuits with a chocolate fondant filling.
The Bourbon was introduced in 1910 (originally under the name Creola) by the Bermondsey biscuit company Peek Freans, originator of the Garibaldi biscuit. It is apparently named after the House of Bourbon, an aristocratic French and Spanish family.
It is similar in construction to the circular Hydrox, Oreo and the slightly smaller custard cream, however it is different in ingredients and taste.
