Bourbon-Lancy is a commune of the Saône-et-Loire département, in France. It is a nice place to rest and enjoy nature, good organic food and Burgundy wine in a yet unspoilt environment.
Situated in the heart of ancient Gaul, the city's history spans well over 2000 years. It is only 35 miles (54 km) from Bibracte, the capital city of the Eduens, one of the people of Celtic Gaul; and about 40 miles (60km) from Autun.
The name Bourbon allegedly comes from the Celt 'Borvo' who was the god of springs. Several spa cities are therefore named "Bourbon" in France.
This peaceful town boasts an authentic medieval belfry, wooden frame houses, some fortifications that have been preserved over the centuries, and the untamed Loire River that is constantly changing with the seasons and offers wonderful and peaceful hours of fishing.
