Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes (Gatineau)

Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes begins on the outskirts of the city. Chemin de la Mine becomes Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes later becomes Promenade du Lac des Fees after meeting with Boulevard Saint-Raymond (near the hospital). The complete straight stretch begins at Boulevard Saint-Joseph as two one-way streets (Duquesne and Graham) and ends at Chemin Notch (as chemin de la Mine)inside Gatineau Park.
There is a french language high school and two CEGEPs (Heritage College) and CEGEP de l'Outaouais) all very close to one another. Two other institutional facilities, the Asticou Centre and the Polyvalente Mont-Bleu Secondary School are also located within short distances of each other. This is almost certainly the reason why the name Cité-des-Jeunes was chosen, as it is French for 'City of Youths'.
It is a somewhat scenic route for much of its length, as on one side of the road is the beautiful Gatineau Park.
There are many apartment buildings on both sides of the road, many of them occupied by students of the CEGEP. It is predominantly a residential area, though there is a Metro (large grocery store), a few strip malls, and a Subway Restaurants. There are very few other structures on the western side of the road besides the schools, although a small sports area is located beside the Mont-Bleu school.
There are many bike and walking paths along Cité-des-Jeunes and through Gatineau Park. Gatineau park is also a popular place for Cross Country Skiing.
