Bouldnor Cliff Mesolithic Village

In August 2007, the Underwater Archaeology Centre on the Isle of Wight announced they had collected Mesolithic flints, wood, hazelnuts and other organic material from a submerged site at the foot of Bouldnor Cliff.^[1] This material dates from 8000 years ago, when Bouldnor cliff was the highest point of a chalk ridge. The preservation state of the finds make the site unique within the UK and one of international importance.
