[edit] Discussion
Could you clarify: for this particular task, are you using AWB or Pywiki, or the scripts, or if you're using more than one, what sort of combination? Martinp23 16:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- While you're here - could you take a look at this, and respond so that we can get that task approved? Martinp23 16:43, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
In reply to your first question, it is going to be a combination, though it will be mostly AWB and orgullomoore's scripts. I might use pywikipedia, though. V60 干什么? · VDemolitions · ER 3 21:29, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- At the moment, I'd advise very strongly against using pywiki for image removal, as it tends to fail to remove them from galleries and such. AWB seems to do this much better, with fewer images missed. Martinp23 17:11, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I won't be using pywikipedia. Orgullomoore has a bunch of scripts that are available at my disposal, so I will look into that. Of course, AWB is my main app. V60 干什么? · VDemolitions 20:09, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
From what I've just read on IRC, siebrand has taken over CommonsDelinker(bot). However, there is no reason not to seek approval for a backup, as you suggest - just keeping you up to date :). If the bot is delinking commons images, will it only delink them form en-wp, or across Wikimedia? Martinp23 18:43, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Without changing anything already said, I strongly support the idea of a backup/clone for the CommonsDelinker bot. If the code is not fully identical then we'll need a detailed trial period, otherwise I would have tried to push this through speedily. We can only approve the delinker task here on en-wp, so it will have to seek approval elsewhere as required. I'd recommend running a trial here on en-wp before running it elsewhere. -- RM 20:10, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
