[edit] VeblenBot
tasks • contribs • count • sul • logs • page moves • block user • block log • flag log • flag bot
Operator: CMummert
Automatic or Manually Assisted: automatic
Programming Language(s): Perl, mvs framework + code by Oleg Alexandrov from WP 1.0 bot
Function Summary: Create tables of the articles rated in WP 0.7
Edit period: daily
Edit rate requested: 1 edit per 10 seconds, estimate 20 edits total per day for this request
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function Details:
This bot creates and updates tables based on the WP 1.0 article rating system. It was already approved to make some tables for the Math project; that function very recently grew to 24 edits per day.
I was asked to also set up the bot for "Version 0.7." The discussion is here. I set up the code for this and debugged it but haven't turn on the automatic update. The main table is here, which illustrates what this bot does.
This request is for the bot to update subpages of User:VeblenBot/Version 0.7 once per day. Here is the list: Special:Prefixindex/User:VeblenBot/Version 0.7.
By the way, I recently changed the bot code so that the only pages it edits are subpages of its user page. The math wikiproject transcludes these where it wants then, which gives a clean separation between the bot's edits and wiki edits. I would use the same system for WP 0.7.
Other projects may also want me to set up the bot for them. I want to include in this request the possibility of doing so; the setup would be very similar to the setup in this request.
