Operator: Pvss - I have another account on Wikipedia with 1000+ edits which has been inactive for several months, I prefer to stay anonymous but if anyone has concerns I can email someone from the approval group using my older account on request, I'm certain that you will know you can trust me without a doubt.
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Manual
Programming Language(s): C#
Function Summary: Disambiguation link repair
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): weekly
Edit rate requested: would vary, no more than 5 edits per minute, but typically maybe around 3.
Function Details: I am working off the GPL'ed code of AWB to construct a disambiguation repair tool. Basically I will use the search and replace function but instead of replacing with a fixed value, I will manually choose what to replace the link with. While there are numerous bots working on the same task around Wikipedia, but as you can see here: Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links there is still a large number of un-repaired disambiguation links. I will disable the other features of AWB when I run the bot.
[edit] Discussion
Have you downloaded the newest version of AWB? It has a disambiguation tool built in. But either way, no problem with this task, so it's Approved for trial. Post back when you've made 50-100 edits, and please keep the rate to below 3 edits per minute while the bot is unflagged. —Mets501 (talk) 02:19, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
