Function Details: This function of the bot uses pywikipedia's category.py to add, remove, and move/rename categories with lots of pages. Requests will be taken at my talk page or another predefined page, where a link to a prior CFD or other discussion to prove consensus is needed. A sampling of how the bot will work is available at Commons.

Note: This bot was formerly VshBot.

So this is on talk-page requests only? Aren't CFD's already being handled by bots at WP:CFD/W? What would make somone change the rename proceedure to come talk page you? — xaosflux Talk 01:01, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Approved for trial. Go ahead and trial, up to 100 edits. Can you wikilink the categories, and the CFD (if exists) in your edit summaries for easier reseach? — xaosflux Talk 23:00, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Trial done. Here are five diffs for different categories moved from WP:CFDS (where a backlog was at)

  • [1] - generic summary
  • [2]
  • [3]
  • [4] - uses a custom summary with cats wikilinked and "per CFDS" appended
  • [5]

The first three diffs use the generic summary. However, the last two use a custom summary, which I will be using for any future cat moves. (→O - RLY?) 17:03, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Almost the same as the CFDS one, only with the CFDS part replaced with [[<insert CFD discussion here>|this CFD]]. (→O - RLY?) 23:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
