[edit] Discussion
Is there consensus for such a massive change? I'm thinking also that this would be better done with a MediaWiki parser function than with a bloated (but amazing) template which could have serious consequences on loading time. For example, a page with 100 of those templates took almost 20 seconds to load for me, as opposed to the usual 1 or 2 seconds. —METS501 (talk) 03:28, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- It was suggested at WP:BOTREQ but no other consensus. The problem I am seeing now is that pages with many of the units in them would end up with text full of the convert templates, when they are probably not needed and make the article harder to read. Unless some very complicated algorithm was made, it should probably run assisted. *-) UM is their a spot that I should bring it up to ask for consensus? :: maelgwn - talk 03:50, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

- I have a script adds metric units one article at a time. All editors are free to use it or copy the code. It is in my monobook.
