- Approved for trial. up to 100 edits. This is pretty straigt forward. Although the naming convetion xxxxxxBot is the norm for bots mailman has been used other places. Would you consider changing the account name? — xaosflux Talk 15:02, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I'll change it to User:MMOGMailBot? Note that there will be a single "Kersploosh" of edits about once every 3 months, can I just tell it to finish the first run without interruption once I receive the content? ST47Talk 15:10, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Name is good, how many members are there? Can you provide a link to the project? — xaosflux Talk 17:46, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games - looks like not too many members, so 100 edits would be enough. ST47Talk 19:24, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to extend this request to Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles and possibly Wikipedia:WikiProject Law Enforcement and any other newsletters to MEMBERS of a wikiproject only, at the request of a coordinator. I've registered User:STMailBot for this reason. ST47Talk 18:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- 50-odd edits made under User:STBot towards the initial request for approval - wikiproject MMOG. ST47Talk 01:51, 3 April 2007
- Looks fine, but it's worth noting that the message (unless I've missed something) probably won't be picked up by archival bots, forcing it to sit at the top of the talk page for eternity :)! It would probably be good to put a message at the base like Ralbot uses for the Signpost, with opt out instructions (it would be nice if the bot also maintained an opt out list for this purpose - I think MartinBotII used to do this). Eg from Ralbot: You are receiving this message because you have signed up for the Signpost spamlist. If you wish to stop receiving these messages, simply remove your name from the list.
