[edit] Discussion
Umm … should I make some test edits? — H92 (t · c · no) 23:20, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Not yet. Do you already run the bot elsewhere? Are you a sysop elsewhere? — Werdna talk 23:24, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- I run the bot on nowiki and nnwiki already, and it works fine (because of low article creation rate and almost only experienced writers at nnwiki I haven’t got the chance to try it out there, but on nowiki it works). I’m a sysop on nowikibooks, and I am a patroller (that is, with patrol rights) on nowiki. — H92 (t · c · no) 23:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- On enwiki, we require that you update your pywikipedia installation on a regular basis (usually, just before you go ahead with a run). Is this okay with you? — Werdna talk 23:30, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ehh … well, does that mean all files or just the interwiki.py file? I actually don‘t know how I can get SVN on a Mac, but I sure can copy-paste from http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/pywikipedia/trunk/pywikipedia/? — H92 (t · c · no) 23:35, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, wait, I found it here. I guess this won‘t be a problem. — H92 (t · c · no) 23:36, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Great. Everything seems to be in order. Approved for trial. one full interwiki run. You may make test edits, now. — Werdna talk 23:51, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. — H92 (t · c · no) 23:54, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Umm … I‘d rather wait a little until I get that SVN thing sorted out, but as you can see from the one contrib that it‘s working. ;) — H92 (t · c · no) 23:56, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
217 edits are now made, I have been watching during the whole run and the edits seem OK to me. As it sometimes makes several edits a minute, I’m now awaiting bot flag before further running, to keep RecentChanges clean from my bot’s edits. Thanks in advance! ;) — H92 (t · c · no) 11:35, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
