[edit] Discussion
I don't understand. Why do you want to interwiki link those two articles? —METS501 (talk) 02:51, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I mean between Thai and English Wikipedia. I reworded to make it clearer now --Jutiphan | Talk - 02:56, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I understood that part, but interwiki links are used on articles in different languages, but on the same subject. Thai solar calendar and Gregorian calendar are two different subjects. —METS501 (talk) 02:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

- Oh.. That part I mean I also write custom interwiki codes for adding interwiki links for articles like 1 and th:พ.ศ. 544. The bot will perform these related tasks to add interwiki links between them. This is also for categories as well. --Jutiphan | Talk - 03:30, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- Hmm, can you give an example please? -- Tawker 07:18, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Such as adding enterwiki links between Category:1937 deaths and th:หมวดหมู่:บุคคลที่เสียชีวิตในปี พ.ศ. 2480 --Jutiphan | Talk - 16:21, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

- Seems semi-standard. Can you say in somewhat more detail what custom coding is involved? Alai 01:32, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

- There won't be much custom coding at all. Basically there will be codes that will fetch/create articles/categories in Thai Wikipedia and add interwiki links into English Wikipedia. A good example is that right now there is a request/suggestion to create categories for films for each year in Thai Wikipedia. Since we do not have these yet, I plan to use BotKung to basically create those categories and add interwiki links. This saves time for repetitive work. There are other similar cases like this to work on. --Jutiphan | Talk - 01:56, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

- That's a bit beyond an interwiki task per se, but so long as it's read-only (or dump-read-only...) at the en: side, not much for us to worry about here. But what I'm asking is: you've said it does "custom interwiki links". Can you enumerate the customisation involved, beyond the date conversion you mentioned specifically? - Things are going to be done more in Thai Wikipedia, but in English Wikipedia, BotKung will just be adding interwiki links back to Thai Wikipedia. About custom interwiki links, it basically in these cases will just add a Thai interwiki link back to Thai Wikipedia. The custom part is related to the scope of the articles it works on. But for interwiki links, it will just add an interwik link back to Thai Wikipedia. I hope this will clear all the confusion. ^_^ --Jutiphan | Talk - 03:13, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
