[edit] ArkyBot
tasks • contribs • count • sul • logs • page moves • block user • block log • flag log • flag bot
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic
Programming Language(s): PHP
Function Summary: Per unfufilled request at WP:BOTREQ, basically to replace the AfD analysis functionality of DFBot, which has gone inactive.
Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Continuous
Edit rate requested: 1-10 per hour
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function Details: I'm not entirely certain that approval is needed for this task but I am being cautious and will list it anyway :) The bot is fairly simple - it gets a listing of open AfD discussions and then checks each discussion for a basic summary. This summary is then presented in table format. It more or less emulates the functionality of the AfD summary presented by the apparently defunct DFBot, see User:Dragons flight/AFD summary for a full summary of the behavior I am attempting to emulate.

- You seem to be having some Unicode issues, and /Unusual doesn't seem to be displaying what it should. Otherwise, the trial looks fine. Are you ready to finish it? — madman bum and angel 17:04, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I flubbed the unicode again (I had a similar situation with the bot's primary task and had trouble remembering how I fixed it) :) I'm still tweaking the code, although I have run in to a minor issue regarding hosting - normally I run the bot manually, but the host I had planned to use to do scheduled runs seems to be using a different version of PHP and the code isn't behaving the way it should. I'm working on ironing out the differences so it runs as expected. ɑʀкʏɑɴ 17:32, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I think it's running normally now :) Should be able to have it up and going soon as I sort out the hosting issue. ɑʀкʏɑɴ 14:54, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
