[edit] Addbot Task 8

taskscontribscountsullogspage movesblock userblock logflag logflag bot

Operator: ·Ãḍď§ђɸŗЄ· Talk

Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic

Programming Language(s): PHP

Function Summary: Adding a template Template:Hvportal ( {{Hvportal}} ) to a list of pages that were taken from a category.

Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): One time run OR when next needed

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y

Function Details: The bot was requested by Juliancolton. It will go through and add {{Hvportal}} to the pages in the list under the See also header is the template is not already on the page. If there is no see also header then it will add the page to a text file. After the first run all articles with a see also will have been tagged and I will have a new list of pages without the see also. I can then create some other scripts to go through that list and check those pages for the other headers, adding the see also header where it should be and add the template then. All that I fail to be tagged will probably be done by had as there will be a list ready. ·Ãḍď§ђɸŗЄ· Talk 18:40, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

I personally don't seem to see a problem with this since adding the portal is a trivial task and the section adding will come in later. Q T C 18:48, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Really I dont see how it can make a mistake at this stage, it just looks for ==see also== and if it finds it it will replace it with ==See also==\n{{Hvportal}}. :> ·Ãḍď§ђɸŗЄ· Talk 18:50, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Infact this is very similar to the PDF bot which recently got approved and I ran with "i am almost sure" 0 errors. ·Ãḍď§ђɸŗЄ· Talk 18:52, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Approved for trial (50 edits). I assume it will skip articles without a see also section. giggy (:O) 08:07, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Yes if there is no see also section it will add that page to another list to work on at a latter date. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 19:04, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
