[edit] Thanks for the Tezuka pictures!

Much obliged to know that there's someone else out there working on getting material and information on Tezuka out there. The pictures are very nice.  :)

Just one catch: while citing the source of the photos is great, make sure you write down a small explanation about why these photos are free license.

Otherwise, admins and other people that run Wikipedia and its various projects might take these down unless you have a good reason to believe these are free.

Know what I mean? If you need any help, just ask.

OtakuMan 21:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure that much about licensing, can you edit the information for me? The links are on the pictures' pages themselves.

And I'm glad to see someone likes Osamu Tezuka, we can keep in touch.

Indeed, I think we could get quite a bit done if we work together. Out of curiosity, what nationality are you? If your Japanese, you probably have access to more material than me. If not, that's okay too. Two heads are better than one.
However, as much as I'd like to take care of the licensing information for you, I'm afraid that I might not be able to since it's easiest for the original image uploader. To that extent, here's an example of one of my images where I put a Free Use explanation:
Image:Faust-1.jpg
See the "Non-Free Rational" box? Go into Edit mode, copy that text, and tweak it a bit to work for your pictures. Of course, if you think that these pics ARE Free Use, make sure you have a good reason why. You may want to do a bit of research to make sure you cover all bases.
Good luck with it!

P.S. Okay, wasn't aware that what I just did would actually SHOW the image, so just click on it to go to its page and you should see what I mean.

Thank you, I'll try it. I'm not Japanese, I'm from Sudan but I have a keen interest in manga nowadays.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Dr Tenma (2003).jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dr Tenma (2003).jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:American McGee.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:American McGee.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:07, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:AstroBoy(CGI).jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:AstroBoy.jpg. The copy called Image:AstroBoy.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 17:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Faust-1.jpg

Image:Faust-1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Rock in Metropolis.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rock in Metropolis.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
