Boston Theater Marathon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Boston Theater Marathon is a charity event consisting of many plays performed by many different theater companies in a limited amount of time. The 2008 event, scheduled for May 11, comprises 50 plays at 50 houses performed in 10 hours. The event was established in 1999 and has won the Elliot Norton award.[citation needed]
Founders Kate Snodgrass (Artistic Director of Boston Playwrights' Theatre) and Bill Lattanzi began it to match playwrights with producing theatre companies. Over 400 plays have been performed since 1999, with about 50 performed each spring. It is funded in part by the Boston University Humanities Foundation.
