The 26th Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, honoring the best in filmmaking in 2005, were given on 11 December 2005. This year's awards are dedicated to the memory of Robin Dougherty, a former Boston Phoenix film critic who died this summer.

Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain won the awards for Best Picture and Director. Lee would go on to win the Academy Award. Lead actors Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote) and Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) both won the BSFC Award and the Academy Award for their roles as "Truman Capote" and "June Carter Cash".
