The Boston Braves (also known as simply the Braves) are a semi-professional rugby league club located in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. The team played for a sole season in the American National Rugby League competition winning one game against the Northern Raiders. They are currently regrouping during the 2007 season with a view to fully re-joining the league in 2008. The 2006 side were captained by Steve Flaherty .
The 2006 season saw the Braves enter the American National Rugby League with much optimism with several seasoned campaigners from other clubs and countries abroad such as Australia, England, Ireland, New Zealand and Tonga and a select amount of local rugby union players. They were originally aligned with the local rugby union club the Boston Irish Wolfhounds but the partnership between them was dissolved due to sponsorship conflicts.
