BOStrab

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Verordnung über den Bau und Betrieb der Straßenbahnen (abbreviated BOStrab) is a German law governing regulations for tramway, metro and light rail operations.

It is not as strict as the Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsordnung, which governs railway operations; for example the BOStrab does not specify a strict loading gauge to follow.

Some Stadtbahn systems are subject to both BOStrab and EBO regulations as their vehicles use both types of networks, similarly the Euregiobahn in Aachen operates main line rail vehicles on tracks that are subject to BOStrab regulations.
