The Borujerdi dialect is basically a Pahlavi dialect spoken in Borujerd city and its surrounding areas in Lorestan Province of Iran. Borujerdi is more similar to Persian than the Luri of Khurramabad, and in some aspects is completely different from Luri of Khurramabad, spoken in many parts of the Lorestan province. Dehkhoda says "this dialect is totally distinguishable from the Luri of Khurramabad, Laki language and Bakhtiari dialect". Borujerdi dialect is spoken in Borujerd City and more than 200 villages around it. People of Malayer, Dorood, Arak, Toyserkan and Kangavar have a very similar accent to Borujerdi and their language can be considered same as Borujerdi dialect of Persian. It is estimated that between 0.8 to 1 million people in provinces of Lorestan, Markazi, Hamadan and Kermanshah speak in Borujerdi dialect with minor differences in their accents.
